About Loryn

I became a lawyer to stand up for others.

I know the value of hard work and the toll an injury can have on someone's life.

Through my upbringing, education, and professional experience I provide a personal approach to helping you.

Growing Up

Loryn Schlinker was born and raised on a third-generation dairy farm, Stakenas Farms Inc., located in Freesoil, Michigan – a town with more cows than people. There she was taught hard work and resilience from a young age. She was raised under the tutelage of three strong women, her mother and grandmothers, all of whom showed Loryn that the path to success was through hard work, quick wit, a positive attitude, and the help of a strong community. And while Loryn did leave the farm, she hasn't forgotten the work-ethic taught by her predecessors.

Professional Career

Loryn Graduated from Cooley Law School in the top 1% of her class. She is licensed to practice in Michigan as well the United States District Court for the Western District of Michigan.

Loryn started her career by assisting under-served clientele that could not otherwise afford legal representation. Through working with numerous volunteer organizations, Every Woman’s Place, Grand Rapids Urban League, and Criminal Expungement workshops, to name a few, as well as interning at the Michigan House of Representatives, Loryn discovered the extraordinary challenges that individuals face when opposing their government, landlords, big business, and insurance companies.

Currently, Loryn is a partner and shareholder of West Michigan Injury Lawyers where she focuses on motor vehicle accidents, slip and falls, dog bites, wrongful death, and premises liability.

For Fun!

When Loryn isn’t fighting for the rights of her clients, she enjoys spending time with her husband, John Schlinker, and their Golden Retriever Rudy. Loryn and John enjoy traveling, spending time with family and friends, and visiting the family farm. Loryn is also interested in learning new languages - she is currently teaching herself French!
